Central Maine Community Access Television
Central Maine CATV ("CATV") was established in 1996 with its home situated in Fairfield, Maine. CATV broadcasts in 9 surrounding communities (Fairfield, Albion, Waterville, Winslow, Oakland, Benton, Clinton, China and Vassalboro) reaching approximately 15,000 households.
CATV has one full-time employee and several videographers (sub-contractors) and volunteers.
CATV covers the local government and other meetings of three communities (Waterville, Winslow and Fairfield), local sports events (home football games for the four (4) surrounding high schools (Lawrence, Winslow, Messalonskee and Waterville) and the home basketball games for Lawrence High School - both boys' and girls' teams).
In addition to the coverage of local events (too many to name), CATV produces ten (10) programs including a program covering items of local interest (Kennebec Valley Forum), Paws for Adoption (in an effort to assist the local humane society in its quest to find forever homes for all of its guests), a weekly Mass (Notre Dame-Waterville), and a cooking program hosted by Rita Menoudarakos - From Rita's Kitchen with Love just to name a few. CATV also provides coverage of many other annual community events such as awards ceremonies of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce and REM, and seasonal concerts.
CATV provides a Community Bulletin Board where local non-profit and other organizations can list their fundraisers that take place during the year. The Station accepts prepared notices or will design a slide for your organization based on the information you provide. Announcement information should be provided to the Station at least three (3) weeks in advance of the event.
